Position Summary:
We are seeking qualified and passionate A-Level Subject Trainers to deliver high-quality instruction for students preparing for the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) Examination. The trainer will be responsible for teaching one or more subjects, developing students' critical thinking and analytical skills, and ensuring students are well-prepared to excel in their A-Level examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Instruction:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons for one or more of the following subjects:
- General Paper (GP)
- Mathematics (H1/H2)
- Economics (H1/H2)
- Principles of Accounting (H1)
- Physics (H1/H2)
- Follow the structured curriculum spanning 6 terms over 2 years (1,200 total training hours).
- Teach foundation, core, and advanced topics progressively across terms.
- Conduct timed practices, mock examinations, and past year paper drills.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and student needs.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Design and administer diagnostic tests, term examinations, and mock exams.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on student performance.
- Track student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct assessment hours as scheduled (60 hours total across 6 terms).
Student Development:
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Encourage active inquiry, reflection, and balanced perspectives.
- Mentor students on exam strategies and time management.
- Support students' academic and personal development.
Curriculum Support:
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment papers.
- Stay updated on A-Level syllabus changes and examination trends.
- Collaborate with fellow trainers to ensure curriculum consistency.
- Contribute to course improvement and development initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in the relevant subject area (Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Physics, English, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level syllabus.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at A-Level, Junior College, or equivalent level.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Teaching qualification (PGDE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching H1 and/or H2 level subjects.
- Familiarity with Cambridge Assessment International Education standards.
- Track record of students achieving strong A-Level results.
- Experience with diverse student populations and learning needs.
Subject-Specific Requirements:
General Paper Trainer:
- Expertise in critical thinking, essay writing, and comprehension skills.
- Strong awareness of local, regional, and global current affairs.
Mathematics Trainer:
- Proficiency in calculus, statistics, probability, and applied mathematics.
- Ability to teach both H1 and H2 levels.
Economics Trainer:
- Deep understanding of micro and macroeconomic principles.
- Ability to relate economic theories to real-world applications.
Accounting Trainer:
- Strong foundation in financial accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.
Physics Trainer:
- Expertise in mechanics, electricity, waves, and modern physics.
- Experience conducting practical demonstrations and experiments.
